Save money while shopping – Online shopping hacks

Online shopping has become a part of our daily routine and in most cases people prefer ordering online than going to the store to shop. However, sometimes this enjoyable activity becomes a problem because of retailer’s hidden fees, high prices and expensive shipping.

In order to avoid those troubles in the future, we have come up with the list of some of the most useful money-saving online shopping hacks.

  1. Email address

You have probably noticed that most retailer’s sites offer numerous promotions and discounts to welcome their new customers, but if you have already subscribed you are no longer one of them. A good trick to get those 10% off or sometimes more is to have an alternate email address. Once you decide it’s shopping time just subscribe with your new email and you’ll have some amazing discounts.

  1. Let your items rest in your cart

When you have decided what you want to buy, add it to your cart and let it rest for a day or two. Some retailers offer additional discounts when they notice that you have an item laying around. In order to convince you that you have made the right choice by wanting to purchase on their site, they may offer a better deal.

  1. Avoid shipping fees

Most sites offer free shipping if your order reaches a certain amount. If you are just a few bucks from that amount, throw in a low cost item in order to reach it. Shipping fees are usually high and with a few extra bucks you can avoid them easily.

  1. Find the code

A great thing about buying online is that you always have discount codes somewhere. All you have to do is be persistent enough in order to find them.
Some brands work with bloggers who promote their website and offer a discount code if you shop something on there. This can be a great thing, especially if they are promoting a site you have been eager to shop something from.

Another great place to find discount codes are Google Chrome extensions like Honey and E-Bates.  They offer great deals and coupons thus making your shopping more enjoyable.

If you are willing to research you can find a large number of websites offering discounts to your favorite brands.

  1. Price Comparison Sites

When you find the item you like do not rush into things and purchase it right away. Use price comparison sites in order to find a better offer online to make sure you are not spending more than you have to.

Some of them are: Google Shopping, Nextag, Pricegrabber and many more.

We hope some of these hacks will help you save some extra money during your next shopping spree. What are some of your favorite money-saving online shopping hacks? We’d love to hear.
